Real Estate Tips:
Make sure that any money you invest is done so with a specific goal in mind. If you just want to preserve capital and beat inflation a little, stick with money markets and bonds. If you are saving for retirement far in advance, look for growth stocks. If you want income streams, look for dividend stocks and real estate income trusts. Keep in mind that there are investment opportunities past just traditional stocks and bonds. Commodities are an asset class with both risks and rewards but can provide hedges against inflation. Also look at real estate income trusts to invest into the real estate market without being tied to individual pieces of property.

    1. I grew up in this town and I'll have to say that you've done a good job here. There are maybe a few other things I would add to the list (downtown Newburgh just west of Evansville – very close the Angel Mounds, Wesselman Woods, Reitz Home Museum), but it is solid. My only criticism is that the name of the the theater is the Victory Theatre, not Victoria.

To other's comments about people being rude and discontent – there is truth in that. Evansville has seen major employers jump ship in the last few decades with not a lot coming in to replace those jobs. Add to that the stagnating wages of the last 15 years and Evansville becomes a hard place for blue collar workers to find some footing. It may be Indiana's third largest city but it is not immune to the wage woes of the early 21st century.

    2. My time in Evansville was 1948 – 1971. My family went way back there. My memories are mostly fond. This is a nice video. Glad to see there are so many fine attractions, some of which were there when I was. An African-American attraction? In Evansville? Really? That’s good . . .

    3. I used to work security at casino aztar when the river boat was their. I left Indiana and went in the army, never returned. Good times and bad times working at aztar.
